Shilajit (also known as Mumijo in Russia) is a black tar-like substance that can be found oozing out of the rocks at high altitude in the mountains, mainly in the Himalayas and in Siberia. It’s origins are debated, although the majority consider it to be formed from compressed vegetation which is millions of years old, and that it’s unparalleled bioavailable mineral content to be the result of the metabolism of that matter by trillions of microbes over time.

Not all Shilajit is the same. Our Shilajit comes from high up in the pristine Siberian mountains and contains very high levels of up to 85 minerals, vitamins and micronutrients, and minimal harmful heavy metals. We know this through lab-testing - we are one of the only European brands to be lab-tested. It is a beautifully tasting genuine pure shilajit and you will be hard-pressed to find anything nicer on the market without spending significantly more money.

Shilajit contains up to 40% fulvic acids - naturally occurring compounds found in soils which are anti-inflammatory and antioxidant. Other names for Shilajit include ‘the destroyer of weakness’, ‘conqueror of mountains’ and ‘last food of the immortals’ which attest to the reverence in which it is held in Ayurveda and other medicine systems which have used it for thousands of years.

Western studies have found good evidence to suggest Shilajit can have a positive effect on  Alzheimer’s, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, low testosterone levels (which can affect memory function and sleep), low energy, altitude sickness, iron deficiency anaemia, infertility, menopause, immunity, blood sugar balance and diabetes, stress, asthma, cardiovascular damage, mitochondrial function and nervous disorders
